- Thousands of sightings from eyewitnesses. One would be wrong to throw these out, even as a skeptic. No one case proves anything, but the sheer number of people should alert one to something unexplained going on. And the consistency of detail is astounding if one wishes to believe these are all misidentifications and hallucinations. We have a great bulk of reports, going back centuries, that correspond with each other, many with details researchers didn't appreciate well enough until recently.
- Tracks that show anatomical details no hoaxer would have bothered to create (at least until they became a "feature" of what is considered a legit track). The number and distribution of tracks argues that there is a real creature making them, unless you subscribe to author and researcher John Green’s theory, offered in jest, that there is a worldwide organization committed to creating and sustaining the hoax. These tracks are often found in places people are very unlikely to go, suggesting (if it were all a hoax) that there are many more hoaxed tracks never found. How do skeptics explain this? The fact is, they never try to explain it. They simply wave their hands and say, “hoax”, as if that finishes the business.
- Hair samples. There is a collection of hairs now that show internal consistencies but they also do not come from any known animal. The most interesting feature of some of the the hair samples tested is that they appear to be human in most respects, but they do not have the toxins our hairs do as a result of living in our toxin rich society.
- Fecal samples. Some as large as coke cans. (I've seen one of these in a picture with a soda bottle next to it.) They are from no known animal, and when some of them were tested for DNA, they came back as "likely human".
- Photographic evidence. By itself it isn't much, but it does support the other evidence.
- The Patterson/Gimlin film. If one spends the time to analyze the film, especially if you have one of the stabilized images you can get from internet boards (available in the post below), you will notice many features that argue against the subject being a man in a suit. As a whole, in my opinion, these features simply overwhelm the contradictory evidence. When I look at the muscle in the leg shaking as the leg is planted onto the ground, I’m persuaded that I’m looking at skin and muscle over bone, not a shaggy suit.
- Secondary evidence arising from analysis of the evidence we now have; for instance, the foot size distribution comes out as a bell curve, suggesting a real population of animals, not a hoax (since one assumes hoaxers wouldn't know each other and wouldn't make enough prints of different sizes to create the impression of a population -- unless you accept the worldwide hoaxing organization theory, which is absurd!). Here's a paper by Dr. Henner Fahrenbach exploring this kind of evidence.
Simply apply Occam's Razor -- what is the simplest theory that can account for the conglomeration of evidence without creating more unaccounted for features? That there is a real creature out there producing the evidence. Though not many really know about it, the case for bigfoot does not rest on a couple of guys telling stories that may be tall tales. We have thousands of reports. The fact that we have physical evidence in the abundance that we have it goes far beyond the case for other subjects that are beyond the norm in our society. For instance, the case for UFOs. I'm not saying anything about what I think about the UFO phenomena by saying that, just that it's apples and oranges comparing them to bigfoot.
There are other categories of evidence that are more controversial, but still useful to researchers in the field. These include sounds and stick signs. I’ll certainly post more about these categories in the future. I can’t say that they do much to prove that bigfoot is in the woods, but they do show that something large enough to produce the sounds, and smart enough to arrange sticks into formations is out there, and we don’t know what it is. We do know that these kinds of evidence are collected where bigfoot is reported. I suspect they really are related to bigfoot.
But that aside, we do have evidence that bigfoot exists, or at least that something real is causing people to have experiences that would remain unexplained if bigfoot didn’t exist, and it is sloppy science to wave them off without doing any further investigating. It’s always possible, for instance, that there is a common but unknown mental condition that causes people to “see” bigfoot, even when it isn’t there. But that wouldn’t explain the physical evidence collected. As RenĂ© Dahinden used to say, “Something is making those damned footprints!”

Ahhh, you know what? All the evidence is circumstantial. The only real proof for a bigfoot will be an actual specimen. Till then this discussion with just be between ideologies and beliefs. And it's silly to try and convince someone that their beliefs are wrong because they just go "Ne ner ner, i don't believe you".
Isn't that funny. People like the last blogger will say"NO EVIDENCE A REAL SPECIMAN IS THE REAL PROOF!" How arrogant to think that you can pick and choose the forms of evidence that make something true or untrue!! I mean please...Ther is no "SPECIMAN" of God , but alot people with your outlook belive in the enity..I DO. No evidence...point at air...we know its there but you can't see it. Come on now stop talking in circles...actually think about what you say...You'd be mad at your kids for putting so little time in there school work...stimulate that gray matter Mr President!!! Better yet , have fun and open your mind.
There is no argument from me, I have seen bigfoot several times. they are reclusive creatures, I never hear any mention of their diet, they are big and have to consume at least as much as i would.evidence of their foraging should be substantial.
It is scientifically impossible for these creatures to exist. Yes it's fun to imagine the possiblity of such a creature, but let's face facts people. At least one would have and should have been killed or documented (credibly) by this time.
Science? The word has become a prayer. Was it Newton or Gallelio who proved bigfoot doesnt exist? I know both wrote many proofs of God. I know Newton believed in alchemy. I know keppler wrote horoscopes. Including the word "science" doesnt prove your point.
I think the ideal way to convince the skeptics is when a bigfoot is captured alive and is in a big cage I submit we throw a few of those narrow minded folks in with it so they can get a close up and personal look. I would like to be on hand to see that one.
Bigfoot is not a true flesh and blood creature, it is a spiritual entity. And another anonymous writer who blogged down below may be correct; bigfoot may be scientifically impossible to exist in a normal material realm. There ares simply too many strange and out of he ordinary examples for bifoot to simply be a benign ape or gorilla creature.
I would ask this question, "Do we know everything?" If your answer is, "NO!" Then we must not be so quick to deny the possible existence of things we have not yet discovered! New discoveries are being made all the time. Frankly, it amazes me that we are so quick to judge others as kooks, crazy, or liars, when we know nothing of what they experienced! We must keep an open mind and continue to explore the unknown. I am sure many, many surprises yet await us. I have had no Bigfoot sighting, but one bizarre UFO sighting, one unknown "plesiosaurus-like sighting," and one strange dimentional shift experience. Keep an open mind my friend, for if any of these things, or other strange experiences are yours, expect people to not believe. Its part of our nature.
If a tree falls in the forest and no one sees it does it exist?
Seeing is believing and many times believing is seeing. Some have eyes and cannot see, some ears yet cannot hear.
There are many things in this world many will never see and yet believe. Likewise many will see things and not believe their own eyes.
Proof to many is no proof at all.
To me it seems the ney sayers are the ones who dont get off the behinds to see for themselves. Like the ones who state" Oh it was probably a bear", what horse pucky that is. I have two very distinct encounters, one of which was deep in the Washington National Forest of the Naches trail. I was as far as a jeep could go and went on with a Quad 4x4, that night spent in the very deep woods was the scariest I have ever had. The second encounter was traveling out of the woods and down a highway in what I would call a farther out suburb, when in front of my truck step out one and with 1 step hit the middle of the 2 lane road and with the other was off the road going right to left. So yes Virginia there is a bigfoot.
All I know is if I ever come across one of these so called creatures, I'm running as fast as I possibly can. I don't plan on hanging around to snap a couple of photos.
Since Bigfoot is perhaps the offspring of the biblical Nephillim it could be a creature that inhabits both the spiritual and materials planes of existence.
There is too much evidence to ignore despite the lack of a captured alive or dead specimen.
Sasquatch. Indians must have seen a big hairy ape lumbering through the woods a long time before the big hoax militia was on the prowl. To me this is evidence most profound because there is some strange stuff that happens on indian reservations (A.K.A. Utahs UFO ranch)Some things in life are dark matter too...
I have called in hundreds of Bigfoot and little forest people. I have been within 10 feet of about a dozen bigfoot. They have always been interdimensional and therefore invisible. This used to be common knowledge in th 60's and 70's, primarily as a result of two held in captivity at Lawrence Livermore National Lab. Both escaped by outwitting their scientist/captors. Bigfoot are benevolent, intelligent, interdimensional people that primarily exist in the higher dimensions. They also have an orb phase and a spirit cloud phase, like all the little interdimensional people. The orb phase allows them to travel quickly and remain unseen, because the orbs can exist in dimensions once and twice removed from ours. Bigfoot can therefore sleep as an orb in a higher dimension, in the ground, in a tree or anywhere he wants because that orb will exist in a different dimension than the aforementioned obstacles. Bigfoot number in the millions. Little people are even more common. Bigfoot can live amongst us by remaining invisible. One of their favorite tricks is to eavesdrop on our dreams while camping, and then make a noise of somekind when we briefly wakeup in the middle of the night. They are normally ecstatic when they meet a camper who understands them and their invisibility. They sometimes follow campers home and hang around their house for a few days. Bigfoot do not eat much. Bigfoot likely die in the higher dimensions, since they spend so much time there. Which is why their bones are so hard to find.

I live in Bigfoot country and have followed the mythology/modern folklore all my life. All I have to say about the Patterson hoax - er, film - is simple: sagittal crest on a female!
Mad, you seem to be unaware that saggital crests are not a function of gender, but of size. The creature seen in the film is pretty clearly large enough to sport the crest.
bigfoot is out there.
but the only way mainstream is going to beleve it is to give them a body.
A "Bigfoot" was captured. The evidence exists. I saw a report (mid 1960's) on CBS news (with Walter Cronkite) showing video of a captured "typical" hairy creature - very human-like. He was bound with what seemed to be chain restraints. He stood about a foot taller that the 4 men who "escorted" him (against his will, by the expression on his face). The report said he was being taken to a secure (but secret) laboratory for testing and examination, and that for humanitarian reasons, his location would not be revealed. I waited for months for a follow-up report, but it never happened. I suggest that "Bigfoot researchers" ought to do a thorough search of CBS News archives. The video was astounding, but I've never seen it replayed, and CBS news never mentioned it again. (I'm not making this up.) Mike OK
There is more evidence for bigfoot than there is for god, yet most of the inhabitants of this planet believe in god. Go figure.
Excuse me....but didn't Patterson confess a few years ago that he himself did knowingly perpetrate this hoax film ? I was a believer in his film until then. I do, however, still believe there is something to all this...just on the eyewitness accounts alone. I am not aware of any hair samples that have been "unidentified". Or poop. That is news to me...the first I have ever heard of it.

Funny how people will put a blind faith in some fairy god or Jewish zombie but if they saw a sasquatch in front of them they would say it was a retarded bear or something.
sad really.....

No, Roger Patterson died in 1972. He maintained until his dying day that the film was genuine. You are thinking, probably, of Ray Wallace, whose family came out after his death and announced that everything he'd been involved with was hoaxed.
Here's a wikipedia link for the Patterson/Gimlin film (it's too long for the formatting so you will have to put it back together and paste it into your browser):

Here's a link to John Green's article about the Wallace family allegations:

Over 6,000,000,000 people in the world and we have no hard evidence?!?! If Bigfoot did exist, by this time we would have hard proof. Bigfoot is a myth.
Ok people!Bigfoot does exist!I saw him!I live in British Columbia and so many people have seen this creature around my area.He is like a human being. When I saw this creature I was amazed how he was picking up some berries form a bush.He acted like us!But the only thing that is different is that he is way taller than us and that he is covered with hair. The only thing that I would reakky want is to know how to talk to bigfoots. If only I could than maybe I could of told people what Bigfoots think of us,and what they don't like about us.I hope that someday, someone will learn the language that bigfoots speak, and then maybe they could they could live in the cities and do the things we do.
So do believe in Bigfoot, and maybe one day you will see him.

The Patterson-Gimlin film is a hoax. Just look at the stills in the book "Meet the Sasquatch" by Chris Murphy. The stills in there (high rez) tell the tale. Posterior pads that don't stay in place; straps on the upper thighs (perhaps to attmept to keep the posterior pads in place)that are very obvious; strange "hair line" down the back that is so prounounced (that hasn't been seen in this form or definition in any other primate species, but indicates a creature costume) down the back; and the list could go on. The creature itself is within the normal range of human stature (meaning someone in the 6 foot 5 range could wear the suit well).
I do think that there is a good possibility that bipedal pongids live in North America; logic would dictate if there are primates in South America, Africa, Asia, and perhaps in Europe, then North America shouldn't be devoid of them.
But the P-G film isn't the proof that "True Believers" seek. Got to get a kill specimen. Or alternatively, a very clear, well-provenanced film or video of several Sasquatches out in the wild.
Expeditions have to go to Alaska. That's where they are 100% certainty are. Read "Rain Coast Sasquatch." The maps therein would guarantee if a scientific expedition was mounted to any of the islands or mini-peninsulas highlighted in the book, success would follow--tracks, vocalizations, and yes, even film.
a buddy of mine was on a drilling rig in Colorado and saw a Big Foot in the broad day light, he said the Big Foot was at least 7 to 8 feet tall and smelled like a wet dog.The Big Foot was very fast and covered ground quickly he also stated "my buddy"that the creature taunted his crew while they would be at work and the towns people know about the BigFoot and they stated to leave the Big Foot alone.
